Who We Are

Many of Hawai‘i’s top industry professionals have generously given their time, energy and resources to begin this most important mission. These are just a few of the voices coming together as one, as Hawaiʻi Events Coalition:

Kalani Rodrigues, Vice President
Hawaii Stage and Lighting Rentals Inc.
Kalani began his event industry career in 1983 with the IATSE Local 665 as a stagehand on concerts, opera and conventions. With the experience of more than 3,500 events under his belt, Kalani helped develop industry safety standards with the Event Safety Alliance on Entertainment.

J. Robert (Bob) Harmon, President and CEO
Eggshell Lighting Company, Inc.
For over 45 years, Eggshell Lighting Company has handled the lighting and visual needs for both intimate gatherings and sold-out stadium concerts throughout the state. Under Bob’s leadership, Eggshell Lighting has won several Parnelli Awards recognizing the Best Regional Lighting Company in the Southwest U.S.A., the latest in 2019.

Rick Schneider, CEO of Events International Inc.
Owner/Partner of Honolulu Box Office and ARCH Hawaii.
Rick has been producing some of the largest and most prestigious events in Hawaiʻi for over 30 years. His experience as an event producer encompasses every form of event, from dinners for two to corporate events for hundreds to concerts for thousands to festivals and sporting events for tens of thousands. He’s produced music videos for the Rolling Stones, has served as a Communications Director for a City Councilman, owned and operated Wa Nui Records producing Songs of Liliuokalani by the Galliard String Quartet, and managed over 100 events for the National Football League.

Lee-Ann Choy, President
Pacific Rim Concepts LLC
A full-service, professional conference & event organizer, Lee-Ann and her staff put their clients front and center. Says Lee-Ann, “Let us worry about the details and let you be a guest at your own event.” She is an Event Management & Marketing Lecturer at the University of Hawaiʻi School of Travel Industry Management and the UH TIM Alumni Association President.

Jim Swanson, Managing Partner
Mid-Pacific Audio Visual LCC.
Jim has 41 years (32 in Hawaiʻi ) experience in various levels of Audio-Visual Event production & management. Formed in 2018, Mid-Pac Audio Visual is primarily focused on design and execution of A/V presentation systems and technical direction/production coordination for Corporate Events, Conventions and Entertainment programs throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

Heather Bailey, Vice President of Operations at MC&A

For over 35 years, MC&A has built a reputation of designing unforgettable experiences and providing exceptional customer service for the MCI (meetings, conventions and incentives) market. MC&A’s expertise has also allowed us to become a leader in the Hawaiʻi leisure travel industry and cruise ground operations. Heather has been in the industry for over twenty years.

Donard has been in the video industry since 1984, spending 15 years in news at KITV and KHON. 808 Video Productions was formed in 1991 and has served sports, documentary, TV special and live event clients with his exceptional skills and personal passion for each project.

Janet Lee Maduli, Vice President

From the Waikīkī Shell to Carnegie Hall…making music and events for over three decades. Janet can be found wearing many hats at Hawai`i’s top entertainment events, including the Mākaha Bash, Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and the City & County of Honolulu’s Sunset on the Beach presentations inclulding the world premiere of Hawai`i Five-0 and Lost.

Barbara (Barb) Saito, President
Aloha Group International, Inc.
With an extensive concert promotion career spanning four decades, Barb worked side-by-side with Hawaiʻi’s legendary DJ and entrepreneur Tom Moffatt on a host of private and ticketed events including some of the largest concerts ever held in the state. She’s also the foremost contractor for Asian market “concert tourism” to the islands, working with JTB, Hawaiʻi Tourism Japan, ANA and more. Barb is also a veteran MMORPG designer and operations manager.
